“In the words of my teens, best house we have ever rented! The location was perfect. We thought we wanted to be in Charleston proper but didn’t book in time and loved the look of the Chick Inn. Wow, was that the best stroke of luck. Sitting on the porch after an outing was what we all looked forward to. The kitchen was amazingly stocked – coffee and coffee maker was great, the quiche and breakfast bread Monica made was delicious, along with the fresh eggs she supplied. It really was like home but much less stressful.”

She catered to our family of four with two young children, including a pack-and-play, kids’ silverware and cups for breakfast. You will leave feeling like you are part of the family.”
“I had a WONDERFUL week-long stay here with Monica and her lovely family, part vacation and part working remotely. This suite truly feels even more spacious and luxurious than shown in the photos. I had my second-floor oasis all to myself but also got to enjoy getting to know Monica, her family, and other guests staying in the downstairs room. Delicious breakfasts every morning, bottomless coffee or iced tea and your own separate central air control system (VERY effective) will be just a few of the highlights of your stay here. Downtown Summerville is small but has some gens, and is a much better valud than staying right in Charleston while still very accessible to plantations and other area attractions. In Summerville, check out “Shuckin’ Shack” and “Accent on Wine,” or the Saturday morning Farmers Market. BOOK THIS SUITE TODAY!”
“We booked this stay almost a year in advance for a wedding weekend. Monica went above and beyond and helped us every step of the way. She allowed our 3 families, our dog, and even allowed us to host a rehearsal dinner at her home. Her home is just gorgeous. Monica is quite possibly the nicest person on the planet. We would, and will definitely stay again!”
“Super house and host! The fresh eggs and quiche were such a nice treat and Monica was incredibly accommodating. We loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom and that the house was so spacious. There were plenty of games to play and books to read for downtime and it was only a short walk to the downtown area. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Summerville!”

“We chose this home in the beautiful Summerville Historic District as the location for our annual girls’ trip. Everyone in our group agrees that this was the best place that we have ever stayed. To quote a couple of the girls: "the hosts are unbelievable and the house is remarkable" and "I love absolutely every inch of this house.” Everyone is still talking about the homemade quiche and blueberry banana bread that we found upon our arrival. We will be back and we highly recommend.”
“Wish we could give this place 6 stars. Monica and her family were so inviting and quickly put us at ease for our first ever private room stay. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and tailored to our no meat diet. We loved sitting at the window nook looking out at the beautiful front yard and had the best sleep of our trip in the oversized bed. The bathroom had private access and Bluetooth speaker for an awesome shower experience. The town of Summerville is super cute and we loved the Saturday morning farmers market. If we are ever in the Charleston area again we will definitely be staying at Monica's!”

“Monica was nothing short of AMAZING from the moment we booked to the moment we had to say goodbye. She thought of EVERYTHING! We had quiche and Summerville sweet tea waiting for us. Our fur baby was even set up with treats to be spoiled with. While the chickens were a huge hit, the fresh eggs were a wonderful addition for a fuss free breakfast. Our grandsons loved the toys and games. As a germaphobe, I was so happy with how CLEAN the house was! I can not say how amazing it was to stay here. I am already missing the evening porch swinging and rocking.”
“This is an awesome house if you are looking to have a large gathering of family/friends. We spent Thanksgiving 2021 here. 10 family members from different states and 10+ Family members locally gathered for Thanksgiving. The house is tastefully decorated and Monica adds touches that I’ve not seen before in the many houses rented before. Her attention to our specific family was greatly appreciated (dogs included); house is very clean. The chickens outside were very entertaining; we enjoyed the fresh eggs! I can’t say enough about Monica….she was so attentive and readily available to answer any questions. She made us feel very much at home! Highly recommend if you are looking for a home away from home!”
“My fiance and I stayed at The Chick Inn for 5 joy-filled nights and it 1000% exceeded our expectations. The home is gorgeous and conveniently located within walking distance to great restaurants (we HIGHLY recommend Bexley), beautifully kept parks and historical neighborhoods lined with breathtaking homes and plants/trees. There is even a farmers market on Saturday's you can walk to. We felt safe and completely able to relax and enjoy. We had the downstairs bedroom and let me just say that neither of us have ever slept better. Eric gave us a tour and we got to see the Master bedroom and we will absolutely be coming back to try that out next time. Even with our bedroom being on the main floor, it was quiet and private. Every morning we looked forward to enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a delicious home-cooked breakfast on the patio. Hopefully you get the chance to try Monica's famous pancakes--they were divine! Most importantly, we want to share how special the Selinsky family is. Monica, Eric and their two sons are so kind, warm and an absolute joy to be around. Some of our favorite memories were made sharing stories and chatting/laughing together. Even though we were a bit bummed when it was time for our departure, we left knowing we have made good friends and a lasting memory. We will definitely be coming back!”
“I loved my stay here. I don’t usually choose to stay in private rooms, I’d rather get a key code and be left alone, but I’m a sucker for older homes and great decor, so I broke out of my comfort zone and I’m so glad I did! Monica and her family were so nice and welcoming, and her house is gorgeous. The room itself is large and comfy, with window nooks, a sitting area, king and twin beds, a desk and a large (and awesome) bathroom. Everything was super clean. Wish I could have stayed longer, Summerville seems super cute.”

“Could not have asked for a better place to stay for our daughter's wedding. Monica and her family went out of there way to ensure everything was perfect. We rented the entire house for friends and family. Everyone fell in love with the house and enjoyed themselves. Our granddaughter unfortunately became ill during our stay and Monica not only recommended places to take her but also continued to check up on her during our stay. Definitely recommend staying here. We had any where from 10 to 20 people at the home either staying or getting wedding ready and had more than enough space for everyone.”

But, that one sentence wouldn’t be doing Monica and her sweet family, and this incredible home justice. From the second you book, Monica shows you her heart for hospitality. This was the last stop on our cross-country road trip and we only had time to stay for one night, but oh how I wish I could just convince them to let me move in permanently! I have never experienced such welcoming kindness. And the home itself is immaculate. This stay was more than what we could have ever hoped for. And if you are visiting the Summerville/Charleston area and you don’t stay here, what are you doing?!? I hope to come back as soon as possible. Until then, endless thanks to Eric, Monica, and the family for creating a memory my mom & I will cherish for a lifetime.”
“This stay was wonderful! Monica, Eric and kiddos were so kind and welcoming! We were welcomed right when we arrived and felt instantly connected and welcomed. Monica had great response time to any communication, and with our ever changing arrival time due to traffic. The house was gorgeous and Monica was very detailed with the amenities a guest would need/ that improve the quality our of stay! We appreciated the toys, and Pack n play for our baby! You can tell everything was placed with purpose throughout the room. We both had wonderful sleep as the bed was super comfy! We liked that we had our own choice of pillow firmness/softness. ALSO, the breakfast and coffee bar was a PLUS and delicious! FRESH EGGS! Come on! We would highly recommend this to anyone and would come back again if we are back in the area.”

We spent 6 days driving around SC and started and ended with the Charleston area. Our biggest regret of the trip is not staying at Monica’s every night of our Charleston stint. “My boyfriend and I stayed in the house for a total of 11 hours (7 of which were spent asleep). In that short window, Monica and Eric provided an experience far beyond exceptional that this stay was—hands down—the best experience at an Airbnb I’ve ever had. From booking to checking out, communication was stellar. The house is gorgeous, the area lively, and their family unit is textbook adorable. The genuine warmth we received felt familial and familiar—almost like staying with long-time friends whom you haven’t seen in awhile, but it felt like no time has passed once you start talking. We don’t need a separate reason to come back to Charleston/Summerville. Monica and Eric ARE the reason to come back.”
“Monica and her family always welcome you with open hearts and arms. I felt safe & right at home when I drove into the driveway my first day, and when I left, I felt like my cup runneth over with all the good things in life. This place is a breath of fresh air you didn't know you needed. Monica is all the good you need in a host (or I like to call her house momma): energetic, laid back, loving, genuine, and just so awesome! The window seat is perfect for bird watching, reading, napping, or whatever makes you happy! The room and home are very clean, well kept, and updated. There is a Bluetooth speaker for jam sessions and the comfiest bed for a great night's sleep or just sleep in all day. I never felt like a bother; even if I was late getting in at night, Monica kept the outside lights on so I would safely make it into the house. I never worried about anything and felt so comfortable & so safe that I kept my bedroom door open a lot of the time. The house's location is perfect for walking to beautiful downtown Summerville and a short drive to surrounding cities/ beaches. This place is worth the drive- I drove 2 hrs out of my way to stay here, and I had never heard of Summerville, SC (fun fact-the home of sweet tea), but Monica's home in Summerville, SC, is a destination in itself.”
“Monica and her amazing family made us feel right at home! Communication was great from the moment I booked. We had our 16 month old with us, and Monica had the pack and play set up with bedding and blankets upon our arrival. Super helpful and much appreciated when you’ve been traveling with a tired and cranky baby! Their house is absolutely beautiful and the upstairs is a dream! The king bed was so comfortable and the shower is amazing. This stay beats any of the hotels we’ve stayed at in the Charleston SC area by far. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! Their boys are so sweet and played so well with our 16 month old. We didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back. Thank you for welcoming us into your home!!”
“You will not regret this stay! know there are a lot of perfect reviews and it’s hard to find any negative comments but I’m from NY and i keep it honest at all times and i can honestly tell you, you will feel at home here. Check out The chick inn’s Instagram page and you will immediately know that you’ll be walking away with new friends from Summerville! Monica waved us in and hugged us goodbye and her and her family couldn’t have been more of a pleasure to be around. The unique shower, the bed, the whole retreat was nothing short of relaxing. She made us breakfast each morning (accommodated to our diet) and always had a fresh pot of coffee brewing. (With about 6 creamer choices..lol) choose to eat upstairs or downstairs. I never felt any pressure to be around them talking or socializing (we just wanted to be) ..so if you are the quiet introvert type she would happily bring everything upstairs to you! The bedroom has a single bed and a king size bed but you can also rent the whole home if you need! Would be perfect for any sort of retreat and you are about 40 minutes from Charleston/mount pleasant if you want more of a variety of things to do! Check out montreux bar and grill for lunch. Looks like a hole in the wall but has an amazing lunch! Corn jalapeño chowder and burger with waffle sweet potato fries! YUM! If you have a child, their children are the absolute sweetest with big imaginations and are great playmates! I really cannot say a single negative. It wasn’t just a stay, it was a memory.”

The house fit our group perfectly- plenty of room, huge kitchen and table to sit around and share stories and food. We enjoyed watching the chickens out the window too. “As a host, Monica’s generosity (in every aspect possible) was like nothing we’d ever experienced! We arrived tired, stressed, anxious, and hungry. We had just made a 3000+ mile move. Monica greeted us like we were her family. With a quiche in the refrigerator, a lemon cake under a glass dish, and amazing enthusiasm to make her home our home for nine days. This updated farmhouse has many great attributes, such as having a bathroom in every bedroom, a washer and dryer to use, plenty of room to spread out and relax, and of course, real farm fresh eggs every morning!We highly recommend staying at Monica’s delightful and charming home. If we could give her and her family ten stars we would!”
